Many errors of Vertex air conditioners are determined using the self-diagnosis function which displays the error codes on the installation screen. In the event of a sudden failure of the divided system, do not immediately call the service center and call the repair assistant.

Knowing the error codes will help you quickly navigate the situation and resolve the malfunction with your own hands. Having understood the problem and restored the operation of the equipment, you can save the family budget from unnecessary expenses. After all, the service assistant will present an invoice even for a call.

Vertex Air Conditioner Error Coding

The vast majority of Vertex brand air conditioners have the ability to independently diagnose faults. In the event of a malfunction, the system monitors and analyzes the operation of all nodes and parts, detects an error and displays information about it on the screen of the unit or smartphone, signals the cause of the failure with signals indicators.

They begin to flash intermittently in a series of flashes. The screen displays an error code in numeric or alphanumeric encryption.

The list of errors generated by Vertex air conditioning systems is rather modest. You can find them in the instructions supplied with the respective models. Detailed information on manufacturer error codes is passed on to trusted service centers.

Vertex air conditioners are assembled on the basis of equipment of well-known brands, which can be obtained from the manufacturer or from authorized service centers, where you can contact for missing information.

User guides also provide a list of the most common damages and give tips on how to remove them. Each Vertex air conditioner model has its own error codes, which will be discussed below.

Separate systems Triton, Cockatoo, Crab 21 (9 + 12)

E1 – the indicator flashes once – the sensor for measuring the temperature in the room is damaged.

The ambient temperature sensor (thermistor) defines the operating mode of the compressor.

Actions: Unplug the device from the power supply, check the connection of the temperature sensor to the board, if the connection is broken, you should try to reconnect the sensor and turn on the device. If there is no result, a part check is required.

The main indicator of the health of a thermistor is its resistance. An ohmmeter or multimeter is used to measure it. According to the diagram in the technical documentation, the correspondence of the resistance measured at ambient temperature is checked. If the temperature sensor is defective, it is replaced.

E2 – the indicator flashes twice – the pipe temperature fixing sensor inside the room is damaged. The actions are similar to those described above.

Based on the readings of the outdoor temperature sensor, the system shuts down when the temperature drops below the set minimum
Non-separable indoor unit fan motor in plastic housing. The electric motor of the outdoor unit is located in a metal shell and can be disassembled for repair

E6 – indicator flashes 6 times – indoor unit fan motor is damaged.

Possible reasons for stopping the fan motor.

  1. Faulty wiring or loose terminals on wire connections. Repair operations: eliminate the fault in the electric wires or tighten the connection clamps.
  2. The fan motor has burned out. It must be disassembled and a new engine installed.

In the event of a malfunction due to wear of the bearings and an electric motor, these are replaced by parts from the corresponding nomenclature.

On-screen messages about indoor unit operation malfunctions.

E1 – communication interruption.

The connection between indoor and outdoor units has disappeared inverter system . In other air conditioners, such an error is not noted, since they only have one-way communication between the units.

Possible reasons for the lack of communication:

  • power outage;
  • there is no connection between the blocks (optionally, the wires are mixed);
  • the terminal blocks and the control card are not equipped with communication;
  • blown fuses;
  • faults in the electronics of the control board.

Sequential steps to find damage.

  1. Check that the wires of the blocks are correctly connected by the terminal numbers.
  2. They are looking for a possible break in the wire.
  3. Blown fuses are detected visually or with a multimeter when the power is removed. If a blown fuse is detected, investigate the cause of the blown fuse in the control board. Most likely, there are defective parts, in particular, the unit responsible for communication.

E2 – The ambient temperature measurement sensor is damaged. The troubleshooting steps are described above.

E3 – malfunction of the sensor for measuring the temperature in the tube. Actions are common to all sensors.

E4 – outdoor unit protection failure.

Stop the installation. Call a qualified engineer with a permit for special electrical work from a Vertex repair center. According to the current PUE, the air conditioner housing needs to be reset. Connection of the air conditioning system is only permitted to grounded Euro sockets.

It is recommended to install protective devices on the air conditioner power line that disconnect the system from the power supply. When choosing and installing circuit breakers, the following rules are followed: rated circuit breaker current must be greater than the current consumed by the air conditioner, and the rated current in the wiring is greater than the current in the machine.

E8 – glaciation or overheating.

If icing occurs on the condenser, evaporator, air conditioning pipes, snow frost may appear. In this case, the system is switched off and a service specialist is called. Further use may completely damage the device.

The cause of the indoor unit freezing can be:

  • violation of heat transfer due to the accumulation of dirt on the fan, evaporator or cleaning filter.
  • continuous operation of hard currency following failure of the control unit, damage to the sensor controlling the ice age;
  • decrease in the level of refrigerant due to a leak or over time – it is necessary to regularly check its amount and, if necessary, replenish stocks;
  • violation of the thermostatic valve – only a specialist from an authorized service center can handle its replacement.

Freezing can also occur if the capillary tube is damaged or blocked. In this case, the defective area is changed or the capillary is blown out with a stream of pressurized air.

Superheating is determined by the difference between the boiling point of the refrigerant liquid and the temperature of the vapor after the evaporator. The superheat value for a specific model is shown in the documentation for the air conditioner. Overheating is usually determined from 5-7 about C.

Overheating indicates an overabundance of refrigerant – freon in the system; its quantity must be reduced.

In all cases, the air conditioner must be turned off.

Then we will analyze the indicator signals on the malfunctions of the outdoor unit.

Flashes 4 times in 6 seconds – protection against low pressures in the system.

Freon type, fill rate, maximum pressure are selected from factory information on unit nameplate or see model instructions

Reasons for low discharge pressure:

  • a small amount of coolant;
  • the compressor valves are broken;
  • insufficient pressure for suction;
  • blow off the condenser with low temperature air.

Troubleshooting procedure

  1. Fill up with refrigerant or eliminate leaks.
  2. Replace the compressor valves.
  3. Adjust the suction pressure.
  4. Increase t o air mixture directed to the condenser.

Flashes 3 times in 5 seconds – high pressure protection in the installation.

High discharge pressure is caused by:

  • excess freon in the system;
  • high temperature air entering the condenser;
  • the presence in the pipes of foreign gases not subject to condensation;
  • the effect of excess heat on the evaporator;
  • contamination of the condenser;
  • Damage to the condenser fan motor
  • belt fan condenser.

Repair.

  1. Remove excess refrigerant.
  2. Reduce the air temperature at the condenser.
  3. Clear foreign gases from the system.
  4. Reduce the thermal effect on the evaporator.
  5. Clean the condenser from dirt
  6. Engine troubleshooting has been described above.
  7. Install a new fan belt.

Flashes 9 times in 11 seconds – voltage phase protection.

In a three-phase air conditioner, the protection against incorrect connection of the phases or the disappearance of one of them is activated. In order to avoid emergency situations, check the correct connection and phase rotation, if necessary, install protective devices.

Flashes 7 times in 9 seconds – voltage drop protection.

The air conditioner switches off in the event of a critical deviation of the mains voltage from the normal. Differential voltage can be caused by various reasons: heavy load, accident, bad wiring, etc. In this case, replacing the wiring or installing a voltage stabilizer can protect household appliances.

Flashes 5 times in 7 seconds – a sensor to measure the outside temperature.

Flashes 2 times in 4 seconds – overheating sensor.

Flashes once in 3 seconds – defrost sensor.

The steps to eliminate errors in these cases have been discussed above.

Flashes 8 times in 10 seconds – protection against failure.

The restart function is in almost all air conditioners. The air conditioner will turn on after being powered in the same mode it was operating in until the power was turned off.

Information on identified faults is automatically entered into the electronic error log of the vertex air conditioner.

VFC fan coils

F0 – the cooling indicator flashes – the room temperature sensor is open or short-circuited.

Actions: disconnect the device from the power supply, check the connection of the temperature sensor to the board. If the connection is broken, you should try to reconnect and turn on the device. If there is no result, a sensor check or replacement is required.

F1 – cooling indicator flashing – copper base and aluminum fins evaporator temperature sensor is open or shorted. Switch off the device, check the connection of the sensor and the control board. If the wire is disconnected, reconnect and turn on the device to check. If the problem persists, replacement of the sensor is required.

C5 – The fan coil operation indicator flashes. Protection triggered due to incorrect jumper settings. After powering down the system, the correct installation of the jumpers is performed.

H6 – the operation indicator flashes. The motor is not responding. After the failure of the chiller fan coil systems , it is included again and verify the elimination of the error. If there is no result, contact the service center.

Due to the lack of information about the error codes of Vertex air conditioners, you need to stock up on magazine and prepare in advance for a sudden malfunction of the purchased equipment.

It is advisable to ask the manufacturer or an authorized service center for a complete list of air conditioning errors, their coding and recommendations for resolving them. This information will aid in self-repair or will be useful in monitoring the actions of a representative of a workshop accredited by the manufacturer to perform repair operations.

Long-term trouble-free operation of the split system will be ensured by proper operation and regular maintenance: cleaning of filters every two to three weeks, protection against overvoltage.
